Brian Nash was born in Flint, Michigan and grew up watching his hometown steadily decline from its auto industry heyday to its current state with contaminated water, few jobs, and little hope after years of mismanagement. He knew things needed to be better.

Early in life, Brian learned the value of education, curiosity and hard work from his mother, a teacher, and his father, a small business owner and mechanic. Local economic instability in the late 2000’s drove for Brian to explore the country, learn, and speak up when others were afraid. Throughout his career in the retail and financial services industry, Brian has been an outspoken advocate for fair workplace practices, pressing management for better working conditions for their most vulnerable workers.

Until the rise in Trump-related Republican fascism, Brian had remained party agnostic, while maintaining a thoughtful, progressive mindset. Brian will not accept donations from anyone that actively harms citizen interests. He will forcefully defend voter rights, push towards equality, and develop diverse opportunities so all residents may thrive. Brian and his wife Nancy have worked with the YMCA and smaller groups focused on children’s wellness and animal welfare.
